Women Are the Future

"A woman with a voice is, by definition, a strong woman." - Melinda Gates

Women unite. Throughout our journey, we’ve learned to support, love, and empower each other. Gone are the days where we stay silent. We are brave and our words are powerful. We can confidently express our opinions. We are game-changers. Women are the FUTURE.

For centuries, we’ve held a variety of roles in society. A loving mother who will do everything for their children. As a sister, we are willing to sacrifice what we have to give our siblings a better life. A daughter who has a big heart to help our parents, supporting them for as long as we can. And a lover, who cares and loves unconditionally.

However, we believe that you can’t pour from an empty cup. Here are 5 tips to empower yourself and others to build your confidence, value your strength, and refill that girl-power meter.

1. Wear what you want

Don’t let anyone dictate what you should wear. Wearing your favorite clothes can give you that boost of confidence.  Remember, you have every right to choose whatever you want to wear. Human rights are women’s rights and women’s rights are human rights. Chin up ladies! Life’s too short to wear boring clothes.

2. Always remember that their opinion doesn’t carry weight

Cheers to all women who stop caring about what other people think. Nobody’s perfect, don't let anyone drag you down because of the “standard” of society. Their opinion is just a thought; at the end of the day, you still have the power to keep or trash others’ thoughts about you.

3. Dare to be Different

Be the best version of yourself. Stop chasing perfection - it is just an illusion. Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there. You deserve all the best life has to offer. It’s your time to be brave and express yourself. Do what you love and seize every moment.

4. Stand up for other women

Empowered women empower women. Be the person who knows how to support others and be their source of motivation. Let your experience be an encouragement for them and help others to strive to be better and improve.

5. Women are not just pretty faces. We are more than that.

You are born to be a leader. You have the power to rule. Gabriela Silang was a fearless woman who led the bloody revolution when the Philippines was fighting for independence from the Spaniards. Her title of “Henerala” reminds us that being brave can change our current situation. Don’t be afraid to be fearless. We are the future. As women, let us continue to fight for our rights and be the modern Filipina heroes we are destined to be.

Empowering ourselves also means loving ourselves more. Little by little, we learn to accept our flaws, see the real value of ourselves, and not merely base our capacities and impact on our  physical appearances, but based on the true depth of our intellect, strength, and courage.
